Full-Time West Branch Librarian or Assistant Librarian

The Vigo County Public Library currently has a full-time non-exempt 40 hours per week job available for the position of West Branch Librarian. A Master's degree is required for this position; willing to accept applicants with a Bachelor's degree for consideration as an Assistant Librarian. Either position must meet Indiana Librarian Certification requirements as outlined in the Job Vacancy Announcement. The primary work schedule is Monday and Wednesday 11:15 AM-8:15 PM, and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:15 AM-6:15 PM. 

The West Branch Librarian is responsible for meeting the service needs of adults and children of all ages by providing assistance and support in the pursuit of information and resources for educational and recreational purposes.  The West Branch Librarian is also responsible for collection development, supervisory and scheduling responsibilities in the absence of the West Branch Manager, and for developing and implementing adult and youth programming and activities.

Full-Time Administrative Assistant

The Vigo County Public Library currently has a full-time non-exempt 40 hours per week job available for the position of Administrative Assistant. A Bachelor's degree is preferred; Associate's degree is required. The primary work schedule is 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with some weekends and evenings required. 

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the Library Director with administrative duties in support of the goals and objectives of the VCPL reflective of the strategic plan.  The Administrative Assistant also serves as the Administrative Liaison for the Friends of the Vigo County Public Library and performs administrative duties in support of the VCPL Board of Trustees.
