Located next to the West Terre Haute Community Center, the West Branch is a single-level building with ease of access for all customers. The West Branch features:

  • A certified Nature Explore outdoor classroom

Patrons to the West Branch can use their library card to place holds on items from either the Main Branch of West Branch to pickup at their convenience. Patrons can also check out an iPad Air or Nexus 7.

Ages 6-18 Months and Caregivers:  Baby signs helps infants too young to speak learn how to communicate their wants, needs and special requests using sign language.  This series of six classes includes learning signs based on themes such as mealtime, bedtime, bath time, dressing, the park and pets through songs, books and activities.  Classes continue into October.  Registration is limited to six families.

Self Defense for Youth

Ages 8 & Up: No one wants to have to defend themself from an attacker.  But, if the situation arises, quality training is key.  Teacher Jason Yost of Yost Wing Chun Kung-fu Academy will teach an introductory, four session self-defense course focused on learning how to be aware of your surroundings, how to develop and use energy efficiently and effectively and how to develop the confidence to defend yourself from anything seeking to do you harm.  Please wear comfortable clothing and any protective gear you may have.  Classes continue into October.  Please plan to attend all four sessions.
