Content and Scope of Collection

The collection is an inventory of Vigo County historic sites and structures conducted by the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana and the Historic Preservation Division of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources during the summer of 1981.  Included are photographs with inventory rating sheets.

A fifteen page, unpublished monograph by William B. Pickett, Associate Professor of History, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, is in Folder 1:   Vigo County:  A Historical Summary with brief historical summaries of Prairie Creek, West Terre Haute, and Riley;  “Written to accompany the Vigo County historic sites and structures…”
