Content and Scope of Collection

The Pen and Brush Club was organized in 1922. Anna Bowles Wiley was the first president. Article four of the Constitution set forth qualifications for membership:

Section 1 Only men and women who are engaged
                            in literary or artistic pursuits and have
                            received remuneration for their work
                            shall be eligible for membership.

The collection contains the organization's constitution and by-laws; names of persons present at the first, organizational meeting; financial records; minutes of meetings; applications for membership; correspondence and clippings.
