Content and Scope of Collection
This collection is a fragmentary record of the activities and interests of HELP members from 1961 to 1971. Anniversary programs, statements, reports, working papers, study documents, photographs, and tapes are arranged in chronological order, as are clippings from Terre Haute newspapers and the Indianapolis Star. Regarding the quality of materials, some years are 'lean', others are 'fat'. For example, the file folders for 1966 contain few items. On the other hand, 1964, the year of H.E.L.P.'s celebration of its third anniversary, is represented by copious amounts of materials including working papers, statements, and newspaper clippings.
