Content and Scope of Collection
In this collection are the Terre Haute League's monthly bulletins
(called, after 1970, ‘The Voter'); annual reports, 1950-1977; minutes of board
and general meetings, 1938-1977.
Also included are materials relating to the local chapter's history and organization; dues and membership; finance drives, 1951-1977.
Beginning in the 1940's and continuing up until 1976 are files containing the president's correspondence.
There are special files on U. S. legislators Bayh, Hartke, and Myers, as well as on Indiana State legislators, 1971-1973.
Much material has been preserved under the heading “Voters Service”, including some mylar-encapsulated newspaper pages of the League's “Qualifications of Candidates…and Views,” the published results of questionnaires which were answered by candidates and edited by the League.
Other materials include clippings, letters and reports on a variety of issues and topics, such as juvenile delinquency, school reorganization, local government units, home rule, public housing and urban renewal, foreign trade, the United Nations, etc.
