Content and Scope of Collection
This collection contains The Transmitter, weekly bulletins of the Terre Haute Rotary Club, from 1953-1973; Financial Reports, 1950-1963; Minutes of Board Meetings, 1950-1980; Membership applications, 1950-1960 and 1972-1980; Correspondence, 1958-1976; Attendance Records, 1952-1962 and 1972-1980.
Materials relating to the local Club's history and organization are also in the collection. See Document Case 10 for the 1955 publication, The Rotary Club of Terre Haute, 1913-1955, a booklet which includes an early history of the local organization. The collection also contains Rotary International Reports which present attendance records of district clubs throughout the United States. Along with this material are the District Governors monthly letters.
Membership application cards and membership proposal cards dating from the 1940s to the 1960s have been removed from their original wooden file box and placed in an acid-free container under the collection name of Rotary Club Membership Applications (Accession Number 20070725C).
