Content and Scope of Collection
Founded April 15, 1882, the Society for Organizing Charity was a voluntary organization established to serve as a central investigating agency on behalf of individuals/organizations which provided charitable services to the Terre Haute community.
The collection consists of one circular letter and eight annual reports. Of special note, the Society's annual reports include reprints of several annual reports from other Terre Haute charitable institutions (e.g. Rose Orphan Home, Light House Mission, etc.).
