Content and Scope of Collection
This collection records the activities of the Vietnamese Affairs Center (VAC), the English as a Second Language Project (ESL), the International Center, the English Language Institute (ELI) and the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) program administered by the Vigo County Manpower Agency.
Included are minutes, financial reports, and correspondence associated with the Vietnamese Affairs Center; the English as a Second Language Project; and the International Center.
The purpose of the Vietnamese Resettlement Project was the placement of Vietnamese immigrants into the American workforce.
Dorothy Drummond, the collection donor, was an active participant in the Viet-namese Resettlement Project and her name appears frequently in the correspondence in this collection under several position titles. Her position titles included: Chairperson of the Social Ministry Committee for Trinity Lutheran Church; Coordinator of the Terre Haute Resettlement Coordinating Committee; Coordinator, Indiana-Vietnamese Refugee Consortium; Volunteer Coordinator, Vietnamese Affairs Center; and Coordinator, Viet-namese Affairs Center.
