These journals contain entries of a variety of business transactions which took place in Putnamville, Indiana.
A comprehensive "History of Putnamville, Indiana" accompanies this collection to assist any individual wishing to investigate the names given on the accounts.
This collection also contains the treasury accounts of the Sons of Temperance, which appears to be a fraternal organization of the Putnamville area. Primarily the journal preserves treasury reports, explanation of the organization's emblem and lists of rules for the organization.
