Biography

Born in 1849, Francis Marion Miller was a farmer in Raccoon Township, Parke County, Indiana. According to a recent history of Parke County, Miller was "a farmer but also did considerable carpenter work around Bridgeton and vicinity." (The story of Bridgeton : Raccoon Township, Parke County, Indiana by Marilyn Mitchell Payton. SpC 977.2465 P) Another history mentions Marion Miller as "a citizen of Bridgeton interested in dramatic productions". A member of the Bridgeton Opera House, Miller assisted in the renovation of an abandoned Baptist Church for use as the opera house.(Parke County Indiana Centennial Memorial. 1916 by Isaac Strouse.
