Content and Scope of Collection

This collection consists of articles, essays, and papers written by Gerald J. Shea over forty years.  While working at Pfizer, Inc., he constructed his own seismographs and studied the earthquakes primarily centered in the Wabash Valley.  In 1977, he turned his amateur study into a profession by receiving a Ph. D., and joining the faculty at Indiana State University.  Most of the articles deal, in some way, with seismology, but other topics, such as tornadoes and celestial events are also covered.
