This is a transcription of a letter from John Wesley Lett to his mother, Frances Lett.  The letter is dated September 7, 1862 from Louisville, Kentucky.  Lett mentions that he is recovering from an unnamed illness and that Confederate forces are within 13 miles of the Union camp

Apparently, the donor of this transcript did not donate the original document from which this letter was transcribed.
