The collection contains all minutes, reports, financial records and correspondence of the Troops-in-Transit Committee of the U. S. O. (United Service Organization, Inc.) in Terre Haute.

This committee served as a board of directors of a volunteer group that provided two lounges for traveling servicemen during World War II: one at Union Railroad Station, and Wimer Lounge, adjacent to the bus terminal at 6^th and Cherry Streets.
