Master Index to the Oral History Transcripts

The 50 oral histories in this collection were digitized as part of the Local History Books Online project which was funded by an LSTA grant in 2002 and 2003.

Individual subject and name indexes were created for the 52 oral history transcripts by Darlene Norman, project director for the Vigo County Oral History Program at the time the transcripts were published in 1980 and 1981. In 2002, archivist Susan Dehler created a Microsoft Access database which consolidated the indexes for the 52 oral histories into one master index. Most of the original subject terms established by Ms. Norman were retained in the creation of this master index. The index is reproduced and is accessible below in Adobe Acrobat.

Note: The Special Collections Department recommends that researchers perusing the oral history transcripts for specific subjects first consult the master index below before looking at the individual oral history interview transcripts.
