The Vigo County Public Library has released the closing dates for three of its branches. The VCPL Board voted on Monday that due to the significant loss in revenue impacting the Library’s current and future budget the East, North, and South Branches would be closed. The Main Library and West Terre Haute Branch will remain open.
- The East Branch located in the Meadows Shopping Center will close on Friday, February 20th.
- The North Branch located in the Plaza North Branch Shopping Center will close on Friday, March 13th.
- The South Branch located in Southland Shopping Center will close on Friday, April 3.
All branches of the Vigo County Public Library will observe new hours effective immediately. VCPL branches will be open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. All branches will be closed on Saturday. These new hours will apply to closing branches as long as they remain open.
The operating hours at the Main Library will remain the same; 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Library patrons who have placed material on hold are advised to call the hold location prior to picking up the material as many holds will now be available at the Main Library (7th &Poplar).
