Baby signs helps babies ages 6-18 months to communicate their wants, needs and special requests before they can speak using sign language. This series of six, theme-based classes includes learning signs based on themes such as mealtime, bedtime, bath time, getting dressed, park and pet signs. Each week families learn useful signs through fun songs, books and activities. This series of programs is open to the first 6 parent and child groups that preregister.

Handwriting Without Tears

Handwriting Without Tears teaches beginning literacy and fine motor skills through multisensory activities perfect for those with physical disabilities and kids on the spectrum. Instructors are prepared to adapt the lessons to meet specific needs.  This program is a collaboration between ISU's Community School of the Arts; ISU's Occupational Therapy program and Saint Mary of the Woods Music Therapy program. Dr. Paula Jarrard (supervisor) and Occupational Therapy graduate students, along with Prof Sharon R. Boyle (supervisor) and Music Therapy undergraduate students, will facilitate sessions.
