Join us for a 75 minute play-based program that gives parents and caregivers the opportunity to spend time with their infants and toddlers in a group setting. The Pillowcase Project, sponsored by Disney, is a preparedness education program for children in grades 3 - 5, which teaches students about personal and family preparedness, local hazards, and basic coping skills. The hour long presentation is perfect for schools, after-school programs, Girl and Boy Scout troop meetings, and more. Red Cross volunteers lead students through a "learn, practice, share" framework to engage them in disaster preparedness. Upon completion, students receive a sturdy pillowcase in which to build their personal emergency supplies kit. Presentations are customized to focus on a hazard that is important and relevant to the local community.

Purdue Extension is coming to the library and they are bringing blocks. Lots of blocks! Playing with blocks is not only fun it also provides unique opportunities for building positive relationships and increasing early learning and school readiness skills, especially in the areas of math, science, pre-reading, physical and social skills.

Baby signs helps babies ages 6-18 months to communicate their wants, needs and special requests before they can speak using sign language. This series of six, theme-based classes includes learning signs based on themes such as mealtime, bedtime, bath time, getting dressed, park and pet signs. Each week families learn useful signs through fun songs, books and activities. This series of programs is open to the first 6 parent and child groups that preregister.

Endangered Species Storytime & Movie

Gather around for storytime with Naturalist Amber Slaughterbeck, create endangered species masks, and watch a short movie to learn the importance of protecting endangered species and everyday actions you can take to help protect wildlife.
