Spanish Storytime

Kids in grades K-5 and their parents are invited to listen to familiar children's stories in Spanish, interact with the story reading, and learn some Spanish along the way! Students from ISU's Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics will be our readers. No registration required; just come and enjoy! [Tentative time and date.]

Families will enjoy two Disney children’s classics plus Bugs Bunny “Howl-Oween” cartoons. In Kenneth Grahame's “The Wind in the Willows,” hang on to your seat as J. Thaddeus Toad as he takes his friends Mole, Rat and Angus MacBadger for a wild motorcar ride. In “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” a story written by Washington Irving, schoolmaster Ichabod Crane falls in love with the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, but the town bully Brom Bones also has his sights set on her. At a party, Brom Bones tells a wild story about a Headless Horseman, and on the way home, Ichabod meets up with – you guessed it! – the Headless Horseman! Rated G.

Donations of clean Lego blocks are always appreciated, but not required. Please keep personal Lego sets at home unless you are planning to donate them.

VCPL Chess Club
