GED Testing and Materials

General Educational Development Testing Service
For information on taking the GED test.

The VCPL’s Lifelong Learning Center has an excellent collection of GED materials such as comprehensive GED books and subject related materials which include audio and video resources. For more information about the Lifelong Learning Center click here or call 812-232-1113.

VCPL also provides online access to GED practice tests through Learn-A-Test (Learning Express). Learning Express Library offers comprehensive, interactive online practice tests and tutorials designed to help patrons—students and adult learners—succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass. You'll get immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of your results. To access this service outside of a library location you will need a valid library card.

Educator’s Resources Available at VCPL’s Main Library

The Parent/Teacher Center is available in the Young Peoples Department at the Main library. The center provides a selection of materials to assist homeschooling parents and teachers in addition the regular collection of library materials.

The Lifelong Learning Center, located on the main floor of the Main library, has many instructional materials available for all grade levels, including audiovisual materials.

Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia
On the Grolier homepage, click on the link for educators to locate lesson plans, educator’s tool kit, and other resources. All lesson plans are aligned to the state standards.

World Book
World Book’s Educators’ Tools page provides a range of resources, including correlations from World Book content to states curriculum correlations, links to lesson plans, and professional education links. To access the tools, click on the tab at the top of the World Book homepage labeled, Educator’s Tools.
