VCPL Teen Advisory Board
What does the Teen Advisory Board do?
The VCPL Teen Advisory Board (TAB) plans and implements teen programs; promotes teen events; helps staff with knowledge of the latest teen trends; assists with special projects and at other library events; and models volunteer behavior for non-TAB members.
How do I join TAB?
Fill out our Volunteer Application Form and Teen Volunteer Behavior Guidelines. Then, join us for a monthly meeting!
What do I get out of joining TAB?
Not only do you get to plan events and shape teen culture at the library, but you also get valuable volunteer experience with community partners. And you have a guaranteed reference when it comes to apply for a job.
How much time will TAB take?
TAB has one 1-hour meeting a month, and one to three events and volunteer opportunities a month ranging from 1 to 4 hours each.
Do I have to come to every monthly meeting?
Please try to come to each TAB meeting. If you can't make a meeting, call 812-232-1113 ext. 2275 to let Hillary know that you won't be there.
Do I have to help at every event?
No. We understand that your lives are busy, so don't worry if you can't help out every time.
How can I stay on top of TAB events and news?
You can subscribe to receive TAB texts (no more than 4 a month) by texting @vcpltab to 317-662-2047. Or you can friend our mascot, Fred C Hicken, on Facebook.
